Administrator: Director of Federal Programs
DEPARTMENT: Administrative POSITIONS SUPERVISED: As Assigned GRADE/LEVEL: K-12

POSITION SUMMARY
The Director of Federal Programs, under the supervision of the Superintendent, will provide leadership and direction to the building principals for all related federal program functions of the district.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
To supervise and work continuously with the Director of Curriculum and the building principals
To work with the Director of Curriculum to organize and maintain a continuous recruitment program To provide a new teacher induction each year and follow up with supports throughout the year
To facilitate the development and submission of school and district level School Improvement Plans
To oversee and be responsible for the federal and state categorical programs (Title I, Title IIA, Title VI, ESA, ALE, and ELL) of the district
To collaborate with the Director of Curriculum and the principals to develop and implement strategies for district wide improvement in literacy, mathematics, and science
To coordinate and oversee Desegregation Monitoring of the district To oversee Standards of Accreditation Monitoring of the district
To supervise and work with the principals in analyzing and evaluating the effect of all applicable federal, state, and local initiatives on the education program of the Jessieville Public Schools
To collaborate with the Director of Curriculum and the principals and to facilitate and monitor the development of Academic Improvement Plans (AIPs) and/or Individual Reading Interventions (IRis) for all students not yet proficient on state and/or national exams
To work with the Director of Curriculum to coordinate and provide all professional development for the district To monitor and evaluate all of the district's academic initiatives (i.e. iXL, Delta Math, Lexia, etc.)
To exercise proactive leadership in promoting the vision and mission of the district
- To keep the Superintendent informed of potential problems or unusual events
To work with the district technology department to ensure access to current production tools and programs for district initiatives (i.e. Chromebooks, Smart Boards, Google Docs, etc.)
To update the Board Policy Manual as needed (at least annually) To perform additional duties as assigned by the Superintendent

Education
Minimum of Masters Degree in a job related field from an accredited educational institution. Other requirements per job description.
Experience
Three (3) years of teaching/administrative experience with proven curriculum understanding and classroom performance. Knowledge of classroom best-practices and effective teaching strategies is required. Other requirements per job description.
Certificates & Licenses
Valid Arkansas teaching certificate or license to comply with the necessary requirements to meet the position's essential duties and responsibilities.
Computer Skills
Ability to apply basic computer programs (spreadsheet, Microsoft word, Excel, PowerPoint, others) to enhance job performance. (Others could include APSCN, HAC/TAC, NWEA, Classworks, eSchool, TRIAND, Shoebox)
Other Requirements
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff and the school community. Ability to speak clearly and concisely both in oral and written communication.
Ability to perform duties with awareness of all federal, state, and district requirements.
LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read, analyze and interpret professional documents. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups and the general public.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to perform basic math operations to meet job expectations.
